بخش اول : کلیات  Generalities

1- می توانی یک رستوران با کلاس بهم معرفی کنی؟

Can you put me onto a high-class restaurant?

2- دنبال یک رستوران ویژه غذاهای هندی میگردم.

I am looking for a restaurant specializing in Indian foods.

3- این نزدیکی ها دارند یک رستوران چینی راه می اندازند.

There’s a Chinese restaurant opening up nearby.

4- این رستوران کمی برای من گران است.

This restaurant is a bit pricey / expensive for me.

5- سابق این رستوران مورد علاقه من بود، ولی کیفیت غذاهایش اخیراً پایین آمده است.

This used to be my favorite restaurant, but the standard of cooking has fallen off recently.

. There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job it was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses 

.One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God with no actual address
He thought he should open it to see what it was about. The letter read
مردی برای یک اداره پست کار می کرد که مسئول رسیدگی به نامه هایی که آدرس نا معلوم داشتند بود.
یك روز متوجه نامه ای شد كه روی پاكت آن با خطی لرزان نوشته شده بود نامه‌ای به خدا !
با خودش فكر كرد بهتر است نامه را باز كرده و بخواند.در نامه این طور نوشته شده بود:

Dear God,
I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse.
It had $100 in it, which was all the money i had until my next pension check.
Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner.
Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with.
I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope. Can you please help me
خدای عزیزم
بیوه زنی هشتادوسه ساله هستم كه زندگی ام با حقوق نا چیز باز نشستگی می‌گذرد. دیروز یك نفر كیف مرا كه صد دلار در آن بود دزدید.
این تمام پولی بود كه تا پایان ماه باید خرج می‌كردم.
یكشنبه هفته دیگر عید است و من دو نفر از دوستانم را برای شام دعوت كرده‌ام،
اما بدون آن پول چیزی نمی‌توانم بخرم.
هیچ كس را هم ندارم تا از او پول قرض بگیرم . تو ای خدای مهربان تنها امید من هستی می تونی من كمك كنی؟

The postal worker was touched. He showed the letter to all the other workers.
Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few dollars.
By the time he made the rounds, he had collected $96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman.
The rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends.
Christmas came and went. A few days later, another letter came from the same old lady to God.
All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened. It read:
كارمند اداره پست خیلی تحت تاثیر قرار گرفت و نامه را به سایر همكارانش نشان داد
نتیجه این شد كه همه آنها جیب خود را جستجو كردند و هر كدام چند دلاری روی میز گذاشتند
در پایان نودوشش دلار جمع شد و برای پیرزن فرستادند 
همه كارمندان اداره پست از اینكه توانسته بودند كار خوبی انجام دهند خوشحال بودند
عید به پایان رسید و چند روزی از این ماجرا گذشت، تا این كه نامه دیگری از آن پیرزن به اداره پست رسید كه روی آن نوشته شده بود: نامه‌ای به خدا
همه كارمندان جمع شدند تا نامه را باز كرده و بخوانند. مضمون نامه چنین بود :

How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your gift of love, I was able to fix a glorious dinner for my friends.
We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift. By the way, there was $4 missing.
I think it must have been those bastards at the Post Office
خدای عزیزم
چگونه می‌توانم از كاری كه برایم انجام دادی تشكر كنم. با لطف تو توانستم شامی ‌عالی برای دوستانم مهیا كرده و روز خوبی را با هم بگذرانیم
!من به آنها گفتم كه چه هدیه خوبی برایم فرستادی. البته چهار دلار آن كم بود كه مطمئنم كارمندان اداره پست آن را برداشته‌اند

 طرز قرار گرفتن صفات قبل از اسم

ترتيب قرار گرفتن صفات پيش از اسم در زبان انگليسي طبق الگوي زير مي باشد.

اسم + جنس (نوع) + مليّت + رنگ + اندازه + عدد

I have two big colorful Persian wooden carpets.

 نكته 1: صفات اشاره this – that – these – those  و حرف تعريف the و نيز صفات ملكي my – your , …

الف) بر ديگر صفات مقدم هستند.

ب) با يكديگر بكار نميروند.

- The three good student

- This sweet red roses

- My poor old dog

در جملات بالا كلمات the – this – my  قبل از صفات ديگر بكار رفته اند.

نكته 2: سه واژه all ، both و half  مقدم بر صفات ملكي و حرف تعريف the استفاده ميشوند.

- all the boys                     

- both my eyes                         

- all her books

نكته 3: واژه half مقدم بر a و an مي باشد.

- half a minute                  

- half an hour

1) Which sentence is grammatically wrong?

a) Don’t look at the people sitting over there.

b) Our brain can keep a record of past events.

c) The cars that are sold are very expensive.

d) The new Japanese blue car will become cheaper.ü

ترتيب قرار گرفتن صفات در گزينه d اشتباه است. رنگ بايد قبل از مليت قرار بگيرد پس گزينه d از نظر گرامري غلط است و بايد جمله به اين صورت باشد:

The new blue Japanese car will be come cheaper.

2) Which sentence is grammatically right?

a) The white large cotton shirt was very beautiful.

b) The large white cotton shirt was very beautiful.ü

c) The cotton white large shirt was very beautiful.

d) The beautiful cotton white shirt was very large.

گزينه b درست است. ترتيب قرار گرفتن صفات صحيح است.

3) A: Do you have a watch?                  

    B: yes, I have ……………….

a) an old gold watchü                                        c) an old watch gold

b) a gold old watch                                             d) a watch gold old
